I started to sing at a young age whilst attending a dance school. I was never confident enough to sing in front of others so I would stand at the back of class. I remember I would play in the garden with my dog and I’d make up songs of how the two of us would go on adventures and get into all sorts of trouble. I would stand on my swing set and sing it aloud thinking no one could hear me, but of course the neighbors could and they would tell my Mum that I had a lovely singing voice.
When I was about eleven or twelve, my singing teacher kept me behind one day and asked to speak to my Mum. She said that she would like to teach me privately as she noticed I had potential. So I started to be trained classically and I went forward for my grades. After I passed my grade four, I decided that I wanted to move on from classical to popular music. I discontinued with my singing lesson and joined a stage school. This is where I was able to find my true voice.
